Aquaplanter

The Problem:
By 2050, we will need 60% more food to feed the world’s population. This means that we will need much more space for farming than we currently have and carbon emissions will continue to increase.
The Goal:

This product’s goal is to achieve individualized aquaponic biospheres for use in an Ocean coast community garden in Venice and other hostile enviornments that will help locals secure food, learn the benefits of underwater farming, and build community.

Inspiration: Nemo's Garden

Nemo’s Garden is an underwater farming project in which air filled plastic biospheres are anchored to the bottom of the Sea. The temperature difference between the air and Seawater causes condensation to occur within the biosphere, creating a self-sustaining hydroponic system

-Eliminates need for pesticides

-Reduces water usage

-Cuts carbon emissions
