Cooper Chair
Concept:
Create a free standing chair that can support the weight of the human body. This project was my first attempt at creating a furniture piece and was an exploration of different types of wood joinery. The main connection being a celebration of the cooper joint used to make barrels, which was implemented on the seat of the chair.
Design
Joinery
-Cooper joints were used to create the curvature and seat form

-A lap joint was used to secure the 16 degree angled back rest
